In line with the increasing living standards of Indonesians, demand for food also increases. This encourages the growth of food industry including fruit processing industry. However the development of fruit processing industry is hindered by limitations in fruit supply. To solve the problem of fruit supply the government has launched several programs to increase fruit production, among others the fruit production centra program. The first implementation of the program has little success in achieving its objective. This article discusses the problem and proposes alternative ways to improve the program.
