In the present study the piston which is aluminium AC - 8A is made through the gravity casting process, using the metal casting mould. The aluminium before being poured into the cavity, is in the eutetic condition, where Al, Si, Mg and Cu are completely dissolved, To change from the hyper eutetic to the used to study the defects in and the effects of phosporus on the piston, while the hardness test is used to study the mechanical properties of it.
