This paper presents the application of swirling jets in large buidings and in combustion chambers for piston engines. to obtain a swirling jet, the air enters the inlet port of the combustion chambers through a valve with several blades mounted on it. The blades may also be mounted inside the orifice (manifold) near the exit hole. The flow of swirling jets was presented by a non dimensional swirl number, which can be derived from navier stokes equations. The analysis shows that the stronger the swirl the higher the swirl number will be. The experimental result shows that the best turbulence intensity is for the valve with 60 degrees of inclination of the blades mounted on it.
