Increasing the role of private sectors in the Primary Health Care constitutes one of the aims of the community involvement advocated by the Ministry of Health. However, there has been no special pattern on how to go about it especially in urban PHC while at the same time private sectors must alocate their funds and re sourses economically to ensure theft continuous participation. The cooperative work between Perdhaki and Atma Jaya Research Center attempts to respond to this challenge through the development of a three year operation research funded by the Miserior. This article is a summary of the baseline survey as part of the above Ford.
