Besides food and clothing, housing is one of the basic necessities of life. In many countries housing problems arise in urban areas, especially in densely populated cities. The solution to the problems is handled not just by the respective governments but also by the private sectors. Each country has its own policy which is guided by the socio-cultural factors of the society. One of the possible solutions is by building high rise apartments, especially in the areas where land is limited. For Indonesia we need to study whether such a solution is now feasible.
