Analysis microstructure of permanent magnet system NdFeB-SmCo. The investigation of hybrid permanent magnet based on Sm2Co17 and Nd2Fe14B which was made from 80 wt% oiwder Sn (Co, Fe, Cu, Zr) 8.5 and 20 wt% powder Nd12Fe82B6, prepared by powder metallurgy process had been done. Both Sm (Co, Fe, Cu, Zr) 8.5 and Nd12Fe82B6 alloy powders were mechanically milled from various times from 2 h up to 22 h in toluene atmosphere. These alliy milled powders was made hybrid permanent magnet sample through sintering at temperature 1100, 1130, 1160 celcius degree and followed annealing process. The SEM. The result showed that the main phase Sm2Co17 and Nd2Fe14B was maintained after heat treatment process and the oxide phase such as NdO2, Nd2O3, Sm2O, was increased with the increasing milling time. Sintering at 1160 Celcius degree was the optimum temperature to make the sample compact and Sm2Co17 phase dominant at hybrid permanent magnet.
