Synthesis of J-Fe2O3/Fe3O4 from mill scale by precipitation method. The mill scale used in this experiment, based on phase characterization by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and RIETAN 2000 software, consist of 85.84 wt % FeO and 14.16 wt % Fe3O4. Precipitacion process of this mill scale produce powder of iron oxide with J-Fe2O3/Fe3O4 phase from the origin mill scale. As comparison, we used Fe3O4 Aldrich (63 - 7106) having Fe3O4 phase system and crystalline size of 27.49 nm. Magnetic measurement using Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM) showed that mill scale processed ireon oxide powder has higher saturation magnetization than Fe3O4 Aldrich (63 - 7106), which are 84 and 72 emu/gram, respectively.
