The purpose of this study is to know about the improvement of interest rate and investment in Indonesia, and the relationship of the two variables. In the period of 1996 - 2000, the interest rate of time deposits and interest rate of investment credit are generally increased. In the same period, the investment (percentage of Gross Domestic Product, GDP) are generally deminished. The correllation of interest rate to investment is r = -0,10466 meaning that those result correspond with the Economic theory which says that investment are depended negatively upon interest. The other factors of investment are rate of return on investment, national income, and the profits of the firms.
