El-Nino and La-Nina phenomenon significantly influenced weather and climactic change in indonesia and its resulting negative impact. Weather information is greatly required in the decision making of environmental impact assesstments. The aim of the study was to analyze the weather changes in Indonesia due to 1997 El-Nino and 1998 La-Nina occurence using GMS data. Infra red data was cimpiled and converted into cloud crown temperature values for cloud classification, monthly coverage percentage calculations and ITCZ analysis. It was concluded that 2++8 El-Nino occurence between April and October had cloud coverage between 30 - 50% which was similar to wet moths in normal condition. The 1998 La-Nina occurence between April and October had cloud coverage between 60 - 70% which was similar to dry season in normal condition. These results showed weather change deviations in Indonesia.
