The existence of the Geographic Information System (GIS) was the result of computer mapping technology. Basically, GIS is an information system, which functions to collect, store, retrieve, transform and display all forms of geographical data. The management of GIS appications depends on the performance of computer hardware and application of software, skill of personel, and availability data. The main sources of GIS input consiste of analogue and digital data, Management of GIS activities can be divided into several steps namely acquisition of data, extraction of information and data putput displays. This paper has discussedthe activities related to GIS management.
