The effort of curing a disease by using medicinal plants has been practiced in Indonesia since long ago. One kind of plant used for medication but still rather unknown is Sonchus Arvensis L. or locally known as Tempuyung. It is easy to cultivate this plant in Indonesia because of favorable environmental and climatic conditions. Efforts in cultivation of this medicinal plant include seeding, land preparation and planning, maintenance and harvesting. In curing disease, its leaf is mostly used for therapy. the plant contains substances such as silicate, potassium and flavinoid. It can be used to cure kidney stones by drinking boiled water of its fresh or dried leafs.
