Isi artikelvanilla stean rot disease is caused by Fusarium Oxysporium. This yeast produces 3 types of spore namely macro, micro and clamydo spore. This spore is slimy and easily attaches itself to the appendages of insects. Spore formation of this yeast is carried by wind, insect of plants. On the infected vanilla stem, the yeast is an elongated, clear to unclear , brown spot. Factors, influencing the spread of this plant disease are dampness, density of plants and degree of plant cultivation. Disease can be controlled through culture and chemicals. Culture contril is directed to support plant growth , decrease plant density and regular trimming of buffer plants. Chemical control is done by the use of fungicides.
