The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an influence between carrying a baby and the growth and development of their inferior muscle and further the growth of muscle and gross motor movements of the inferior extremity. A longitudinal study was conducted using a prospective cohort design with sample of 150 healthy newborn babies using fixed criteria, of homogenous social economic level, in Mojosongo district central Java. Fields officers through observation, interviewing and examination of movement development did the first method. the mothers did the secon method themselves by making notes on their baby's 24 hour activities at home, The varieties in nutritional status and illnesses were controlled. Statistical analysis showed that carrying baby duration correlated with the density of the posterior right thigh, posterior left thigh, posterior left calf muscles, the olameter of thigh and the age of standing and walking, Furthermore, it was discovereed that the density of it was discovered that the density of the muscle and the diameter of the thigh correlated with the age of standing and walking. It was concluded that carrying babies had an influence of growth of muscles and eventually influencing motoric movement.
