In the globalization and free trade era, tourism is the main income of Indonesia because it plays and important role in national and regional development. Indonesia offers many attractive views, beautiful mountains and beaches, exotic underwater sea life as well as a variety of 300 cultures all over Indonesia. According to statistics issued by Soekarno Hatta International Airport during the period of 1989 - 1996, tourist visiting indonesia reached a total of 26.2 million persons while those arriving by aircraft was 3.7 million. these figures showed relatively great interest of tourist to visit Indonesia. However, between 1997 - 1998 tourists decreased to 49%. There should be better coordination between the airline and tourism industry to bosst up tourist visits in indonesia, Especially, air transportation that has many advantages besides service namely safety, efficiency and short travel period.
