Leaves of two plant species viz, Bauhinia Puporea and Hibiscus Rosa-Sinensis from the vicinity of cement factories (Cibinong) and from presumably relatively unpolluted were compared in terms of five features viz : 1) epidermal cell size , 2) stomatal size, 3) stomatal density, 4) trichome length, and 5) trichome density. This was done to determine their potentials as bioindicators of pollution. Quantitative measurement showed differences between plants from cement factory site and control site. Epidermal cell size, stomatal size, stomatal density, trichome length, and trichome density were altered in Bauhinia pupurea and Hibiscus rosa-sinesis.
