Obesity, a major nutitional problem that endangers health, is growing in prevalence throughout the world, even in developing countries. In Indonesia, where under nutrition is usually considered as a characteristic feature, obesity is also an increasing health problem. Obesity is a chronic disease that causes prevalence of non-insulin dependent Diabetes Mellitus, coronar heart disease. obesity also affects quality of life and is assosiated with mortality. Therefore, obesitas has to be managed properly. Treatment options for obesitas may provide short term and long term sucess. Current treatment oprtions for obesitas are diets, behavioral modification, phsical exercise, pharmacological therapy, dental splinting, surgery and alternative methods.
