Isi artikelIndonesia has 129 volcanoes, 15 are crititcal volcanoes and one is Semeru in lumajang District East Java. This volcano explosion could disturb its surrounding areas. To anticipate this disaster, abalytic method is geomorphology for identifying landform units and land cover classification by multi temporal remote sending data MOS - MESSR September 28, 1998 and Landsat 7-ETM August 4,2001, were used to analyze and linked to these sensitives areas. The geomorphology result of Semeru were classifiedinto 4 landforms such as : 1) cone volcano with new, 2) cone volcano with old piroclastics sediment, 3) volcanic foot slope, and 4) volcanic cone. Based on one of these landforms, the study area was divided into three zones of suspectibility such as : 1) very suspectible , 2) suspectible, and 3) less susspectible area, to volcano disaster. The spatial analysis of land cover changes around Semeru in 13 years, added area of disclosed stone to 67 Ha or 0.2% and area of piroclastics stream to 123 Ha or 0.4%.
