English as an International Language is taught in everu country all over the world, from the secondary school until at the university level. A special discipline which study the language scientifically is called Linguistics. The preposition as one of part of speech which has its own significance in the construction of English sentences, is sometimes very confusing not only for EFL learners but also for the native speakers, The writer decided to choose the topic "Kesalahan umum Pemakaian Kata Depan Bahas Inggris oleh Penutur Bahasa Indonesia". (Common mistakes in the Use of English Prepositions by Speakers of Indonesia). The preposition is part of speech which has its own significance in the construction of english sentences, In the paper, the writer tries to discuss the kind of prepositions and their functions as conjunctions. There will also be some discussion on the possible couses of errors in the use of prepositions most of which are psychological in nature. And the end, the writer offers some conclusions and suggestions which would be of some benefit for those who intend to carry out further research of prepositions.
