Isi artikelPoly (3 - Hydroxybuturate - CO - 3 - Hydroxyvalerate / P (3 - HB - Co - 3 - HV) is copolymer of raw plastic material that has thermoplastic, biodegrable and biocompatible properties. These properties enable the copolymer to be used as alternative raw plastic material to replace the non-degradable raw plastics, which is synthesized from derivates of petroleum oil. The aim of this article is to showcase P (3-HB-Co-3-HV) as an alternative environmental friendly green raw plastic material. P (3-HB-Co-3-HV) is produced through intercellular biosynthesis with various microorganism as its culture media. To decrease the cost of production and increase its degradability, it is produce as plastic using starch as filler. Furthermore, P (3-HB-Co-3-HV) has been produced through a biosynthetic pathway without the use of propionate in the culture media. The degradability of this copolymer has been studied on various kinds of soil and water microbes. it was found that 295 microbe strains could degrade P (3-HB-Co-3-HV).
