At the English for Agricultural Training Project in Bogor, Indonesia, one of our primary tasks is to train agricultural researchers in &dquo;technical writing.&dquo; Our specific objective is to teach intermediate to advanced English students to write and orally present a 5-10 page journal article on some aspect of agricultural science. In so doing, we are trying to make our students professiortally literate - improving their writing and oral presentation skills in what has come to be known as &dquo;the language of science.&dquo;
