The purpose of this report is to describe the presentation of lexicongraphic information as practiced in Indonesia. Illustrations are taken from monolingual and bilingual dictionaries available on the market today. It is shown that linguistic resources and needs of the society, in addition to the peculiarities of the language, determine the form and scope of dictionary making in a country. Due to space and time no effort is made to compare Indonesian lexicographical works with those conducted by scholars outside the country. A short historical background is presented first.
