Isi artikel
In a special issue on positive aspects of adolescence, part II demonstrates how other investigators from the sundance collaboration study additional aspects of positive normal development. Again, the power of contemporary statistical methods, longitudinal data, and multiple methodologies are apparent in the following reports. In the first report in part II, bonnie barber, jacquelynne eccles and margaret stone examine how young adult pathways links to adolescent activity and social identity. The role of high school activities is connected with later substance use, adjustment and educational and occupational success. Differences are found between prosocial, performing arts, sports activity and developmental outcomes. Using the jargon of teenage group membership, these investigators report interesting distinctions between jocks, brains and criminals. The powerful contributions of school activities for lated development and behaviour are described in this research report.
