Isi artikelEvery nation has its own lingual tradition that differ from one to another. This occurs evidently to Indonesian people, who mostly speak bilingually, both national and regional languages. This fact will signicantly influence Arabic learning process in its three main elements: pronunciation, morpheme, and word order. In Arabic, there are words which are similarly or differently pronounced in Indonesian. Even, their pronunciation cannot be found in the latter language. This occurs to their morpheme and word order, as welI. This article deals with problems that will probably be experienced by Indonesian people when they learn Arabic in the mentioned elements. To identify these problems is valuable not only for a student and a teacher but also for a course designer. Through this contrastive research, hopefully the problems can be well solved.
