This paper discusses the process of writing a dramatic script for a play performance. It was written with regard to the Play Performance course taken by students of the English Language Education Study Program of Sanata Dharma University in their third year of study. The course itself comprises a series of workshops in which the students learn and practice their basic language skills as well as enhancing their self-confidence and creative awareness through the use of drama. Script writing is one of the initial processes that they go through in Play Performance before they are ready to perform a stage drama for public as their final examination. This piece of writing is meant to show how to make the process more fun, with the use of songs, rhythm, and cartoons and more explicable, with a step-by-step guideline toward the creation of a play script. The script writing process essentially consists of two stages: the pre-writing and the writing. In the first stage, students are introduced to the concept of dramatic structure that works in story making. A sequence of activities should follow to get the students to understand how the structure works. Then, after they grasp the concept in their mind, they come to the second stage, the script writing, which also consists of several comprehensible steps.
