Isi artikel
Whilst the success of Welsh-medium schools is often popularly appraised in numerical terms, this paper addresses the issue of the quality of the spoken Welsh of children attending such schools. Analysis of the morphology of the inflected pronouns produced by a random sample of children from such schools suggests that a sub-set of the apparent errors may in fact represent a stage in the process of remoulding traditional paradigms to produce elements of a code which is unique to these new speakers of Welsh and which may function as an identity marker.
