our analysis begins with the events surroundings a plane crash in the interior of Indonesian Borneo that took place during our field work in 2002. we then proceed to a close reading of media accounts of this event and conclude with a consideration of the various positionalities of the Lundayeh as representational objects in the context of the discursive tension between global and regional media.
