Isi artikelThe research aims at knowing whether the effectiveness of a teaching method is influenced by the academic potential of the students. The data are secondary ones taken from six theses. The used data are the scores of sub-summative test of senior high school students (to determine the stratification of the students' academic potential) and the scores of their achievement test (to measure the effectiveness of the teaching methods). There are two classes in each thesis. Every class is then divided into three academic-potential strata: high, medium, and low. The statistical analysis uses Two-Factors ANOVA and Scheffe Test. The result of the research indicates that 4 out of 6 theses used as sample show that the effectiveness of a teaching method is influenced by the students' academic potential. The effectiveness is dominantly achieved by students with high academic potential. The uniqueness of the research is the finding of the ability of ANOVA in detecting weather the learning and teaching process is good or not, especially in detecting whether or not the items used have met the criteria of a good test.
