A filter bank consisting of a set of filters is usually to separate signals into different frequency bands. If the filter bank consists of Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filters, FIR filtering can be implemented using signal segmentation. As a kind of signal segmentation, it has been proved that overlap-add method based on Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) can be used for FIR filtering (Sumarno,2000). In this paper, a simulation of FIR filter bank using overlap-add method based on DCT shows that FIR filtering can be implemented simultaneously in the filter banks. However, there are two special cases that must be taken into consideration i.e. ripple and signal attenuation in the pass band.
