The grand hotel cirebon was a luxurious hotel in the era of eighties. Now the hotelis destroyed, and only ruins left in Jl. siliwangi 98 cirebon. Eventough phisically the hotel has been shattered, the grand hotel cirebon has still left a residual law case of hipotek which is entirely absurd. besides involving many parties such as banking, court, auction body and land affairs, the grand hotel's case has become an evidence of the dominant influence of law practitioners in the business transaction. The lesson we can learn from the grand hotel is whenever money becomes a powerful commander then law enforcement become submissive followers. An idealist lawyer should remain consisten with law philosophy as said "law must go on even the sky will fall in down". In the gran dhotel's case there are clearly involvement of notary public, land afairs officer, auction officer and bank officer beside the land lord in a dirty game that makes the case absurds like a vicious circle. However, the author expects that commentary on the grand hotle's case will become a valuable and useful lesson for bankers, court, auction officer on the DJPLN, land affairs officers and business circle.
