Isi artikelThe intellectual property right (IPR) is a sub - system of legal system which has been created to protect intellectual property in a wide range from ordinary human instruments used in daily activities such as agriculture, folklore, bio - diversity, traditional medicine, music, till highly complicated computer program viz. CAD / CAM animation, robotic, etc. Traditional knowledge subject matters, the need of adequate protection of them and the infrastructures required to supporting the protection must be observed. There are two possible legal protections of the traditional knowledge and the related subject matters, viz the first through the application of existing standards protection for traditional knowlegde subject matters, the second by developing a new intellectual property standards protection for traditional knowledge and the related subject matters. The protection of traditional knowledge will be reqired not only a tremendous works but also a lot of money as the consequences. In respect of traditional knowledge in developing countries, international organization such as WIPO and developed country whoch has the concern of the traditional knowledge should come up with initiatives and funds to help developing countries protect their traditional knowledge and the related subject matters.
