The weak supervision of the banking organization in any country, whether developing or under develop country, can threaten monetary stability both national and international. The need to strengthen the banking supervision has attracted a growing international concern. An effective banking organization will have clear responsibilities and objectivites including supervision of the bank. Each banking organization shall possess operational independence and adequate resources, a suitable legal frame work for banking supervision, powers to address compliance with laws as well as safety and soundness concerns, and legal protections for supervisor. Then, an arrangement for sharing information between supervisors and protecting the confidentiality of such information shall become a must. Effective supervision is an essential component of a strong economic environmental in that the banking system plays a central role in making payments and mobilizing and distributing funds. The task of supervision is to ensure that banks operate in a safe and sound manner and that they hold capital and reserves sufficient to support the risks that arise in their business. Strong and effective banking supervision provide a law assurance to the public and, along with effective macro ecnomic policy, are necessitated to economc stability in any country.
