Isi artikel
Changes in content, methods, and roles in Mexican secondary school English classes confront teachers with the challenges and demands of a more learner-centred approach. Pop music is one way of involving young learners and their teachers in meaningful, enjoyable, and collaborative classroom tasks. This article describes a teacher training workshop in which, through a series of linked tasks, teachers explore how pop music can be integrated into their English programmes. Far from being marginal to the changes currently taking place in the Mexican secondary curriculum, pop music is viewed as important to the success of these changes.
