As teachers, we all want to help learners discover how to learn languages more effectively and more easily. One way of doing this is strategy training, which has recently caught the imagenation of researchers and teachers in many parts of the globe. The article's four porposes are: a) to summarize existing research on use of learning strategies and on conducting strategy training; b) to present six situational case studies of strategy training, with affective aspects interwoven as part of the training; c) to offer a possible strategy training maodel based on research and personal experince; and d) to make other instructional suggestions for strategy training in the language classroom.
