If we assume that economic factor is the most important one among factors causing someone to be a sexual worker, a good understanding of poverty and its factors is a necessary condition. It will be discussed here what poverty is and what factors are at work, so that we have a better way to solve it. Better economic life is an important way to prevent girls to be sexual workers. Literature study shows that there are several factors of poverty depending on what aspect someone takes into account. Economist, for example, will say that poverty us related to lack of work available for people so that they cannot earn money. Cultural approach on the other side will reveal cultural factors of poverty. Someone becomes poor because of poor modern values, weak mentality, etc. On the other hand, sociologists will blame social structure as trouble maker. If we want to reduce poverty, we should take those factors into account.
