In Indonesia there is a new form of business, it is called Distribution Store. Distribution Store is a place which distributes many of local clothing companies? products, where the clothing companies consigns their product in the distribution store and the distribution store receive a consignment fee. Distribution store?s income, primarily comes from consignment fee. The Distribution Store fever was originated from Bandung city. As the business grows, people in Jakarta start opening distribution store in their city. As time goes by and the number of distribution store keep on increasing, the problem of homogeneity of product surface. This is because, distribution stores get their products from the same suppliers. Therefore, it is crucial for each distribution store to have a sustainable competitive strategy to be able to sustain their business. This is what triggered the writer to study more about the competitive strategy of a distribution store. The writer had selected to analyze the distribution store competitive strategy with a case study in Hazel Distribution store. In this research, the writer is sequentially analyzing the structure of industry of a distribution store, the chosen distribution store?s resources and capabilities, the formulation of strategy and the implemented strategy. In the end of this research, the writer had come up with a serial of recommendation which hopefully able to help the chosen distribution store to be able to improve it?s business and serve it?s customers better in the future. |
