This type of financial instrument reemerged in the 1970's as the government launched its housing establishment program. So far, long term credits for housing seem the only mortgage loan developing in the country. This article discuss mortages in detail. It descrives mortgage development as a product and as a "system", brief mechanisms as to how each type of mortgage works and the application and development of mortgage, about how they support the housing industry in indonesia. It discussing the above, the impact of interest rate fluctuations and the tight money policy is also analyzed.
