These approaches have investigated certain things about the learner, before and at the end of a course. They have not usually taken account of the learner's perception of the process oflearning. Eight trainee teachers on teaching practice investigated their pupils' reactions to a number of lessons and tasks. This yielded information about various aspects of their learning, as well as the materials and management they found helpful.
