Isi artikelEducation is a conscious effort to develop human potency. This is especially important for elementary education since it serves as a foundation for the students. One of course offered in elementary school is Mathematic which is targeted on building logical ability of the students. However, it is not an easy task to provide effective Mathematics course in elementary school because of the perceived difficulties from students, parents, and teachers toward the course as well as lack of teachers’ capabilities in teaching the course. It is therefore important to evaluate what characteristics and topics perceived to be important by students, parents, and teachers and to evaluate teachers’ ability to tech the course. This article discusses the issue based on data from 144 teachers, 1417 students, and 1300 parents in 24 elementary schools in Jakarta selected using stratified random sampling show.
