This article discusses institutional structure of Depok municipality as a consequence of Government Regulation Number 22/1999’s implementation. Concerning current socio-economics condition of Depok municipality, the institutional structure is framed around suburbanization process. The process is largely a consequence of Depok suburbanization of Depok toward Jakarta which in turn transform socio-economics condition of Depok into its current anatomical structure of Depok City, increase in population, and increase of economic activities. This dramatic change requires economy autonomy in order to facilitate government of Depok to efficiently manage the changes. This was further accommo-dated in structuring and strengthening executive structure of Depok Municipality. The structure is an institutional effort made to improve Depok Municipality’s performance.
