Isi artikelBy studying the factors which influence the thermal comfort in air conditioning application can contribute a mgnificance energy saving without reducing the satisfaction feeling oft/ic occupant, such as by increasing 1 degree C of the setting dry bulb temperature (25 degree C becomes 26 degree Q and maintaining the relative humidity within 40 50% and keep the average velocity below 0./Sm/sec the satisfaction feeling of the occupant is not influenced and this condition can reduce 3 — 5 % [7J of the energy input Since Indonesia is located in a tropical country which has narm temperature and high humidity, and most of the air conditioning units are imported and designed by western countries (subtropical not tropical), it is difficult to achieve: the relative humidity below 50% when those units are used in the tropical countries, such as indonesia. Therefore a new design concept of the air conditioning units which are going to be used in tropical area should he considered in order to save the power consumption of the units.
