An experiment was conducted at Bangladesh Agricultural University Farm, MymenSL'1gh to study the effect of different dates of sowing and seed rates on the yield and yield attributes of Foxtail mi11et. Four different dates of sowing viz. 01, 15 and 30 January and 15 February and seed rates 6, 8, 10 and 12 kg per hectare were used in this study. Tile result of the study revealed that the sowing time significantly influenced the parameters, such as plant population m'2, plant height, and effective tillers plan. Panicle length, grain panicle's. 1000- grains wt., grain and straw yields, total dry matter weight and .harvest index. 1;1 case of seed rates almost similar response as in sowing dates were noticed with the exception of plant height. effective tillers plan panicle length and harvest index which were not significant. The interaction effect due en svw1r.g dates and seed rates showed significant influence on plant population, grain panicle's grain and straw yields, total dry-matter weight and harvest index. The combinations of D3S3 (sowing 3 January with 10 kg seed ha-1 produced significantly the highest grain and straw and respectively.
