In this study the psychiatric disorders such as depression on the epileptic patients admitted in M Jamil Padang have been discussed. There were 172 cases during the period of January 1990 to December 1991,84 (48,8%) were male and 88 (51,2%) were female, while the youngest was 16 years and the oldest was 60 years old. Age group, type of seizure also were discribed. Depressive syndrome had been found at 18 (10,4 %) and the other psychiatric disorders at 5 (2,9%) while primary organic brain sydrome at 2 (1,2%). Affective disorders such as depression occured more often (20%) in group temporal lobe epilepsy than other groups.
