The study of improvement on quality of Payakumbuh sheed tobacco was conducted in Situjuh Bandar Dalam Kabupaten 50 Kota Payakumbuh, from September up to Nopember 1992. This experiment used Randomized Block design with six treatment and three replications. The six treatments were harvest time G1. 08.00 WIB, l0.00 WIB, 12.00 WIB, 14.00 WIB and 16.00 WIB. 'June parameters of sell-ode were the content, the total sugar content and analeptic preferences for color, aroma, taste and Filing value. The result showed that harvest time at 16.00 WIB achieved the best result with total sugar content as 5,43%, real-time content as 4,49""{' and gave a best color taste.
