Isi artikel
This study investigate the relationship between spouse gender identity and premarital aggression. A heterogeneous sample of black (n=123) and white (n=412) couples was assessed at the time they applied for their marriage licences. Results suggested that gender identity may function as one component of the underlying mechanism associated with intimate aggression. Further, gender identity was differentially related to premarital aggression in the black and white husbands seemed to temper aggressions. Among black couples, wives high in masculinity or high in femininity experienced lower levels of premarital aggression.
