Isi artikel
This article delineates a step-by-step procedure for designing an English for Specific Purposes (ESP) reading skills course for a group of students whose interests and academic pursuits are similar. Throughout the article the example of the author's ESP course for students in the 'soft-sciene' field of education is used to illustrate the process. It is contented that the main differences between a reguler ESL reading skills course and this type of ESP course are: (1) the use of authentic, non-simplified, directly relevant texts in their field of specialization, and (2) a focusing on the students immediate reading needs.
