In Indonesian there are three kinds of objects that have to be distinguished: (ordinary) object (0), tirst object (01), and second object (02). This study reveals that 0 is only used for monotransitive verbs, while 01 and the 02 are only used for bitransitive ones; 0 I is an NP after a verb, whereas 02 is an NP after 0 I. The above three-object classification is very important for Indonesian grammar that is currently still based on the difference between a direct object and an indirect object or between an object and a complement.
