A verb is always an interesting subject for discussion since it is very potential as a predicate filler. Functioning as a predicate, the verb in sentence structure varies in its role. In certain constructions, a verb requires the presence of a constituent which functions as an object. In other constructions, a verb requires the presence of a compulsory constituent, but this constituent is neither the object nor the adverb of the sentence.
