This paper deals with a discourse on selling and buying in Indonesian. It attempts to examine its structure as well as its cohesive devices. The structure of this type of dicourse has three elements: initial-margin segment, core segment, and final-margin segment. Four kinds of cohesive devices typically used in this discourse are: reference, ellipsis, supposition, and implicature/inference.
