The journal of cross - cultural psychology features prominently in an area of theory and research that is clearly thriving. The interest in cross - cultural research has shown continued growth during the past 30 years, particularly during the past decade. After the initial period of enthusiasm and a period of slower progress in between, it looks almost as if cross - cultural psychology is experiencing an adolescent growth spurt. It is reassuring to see that these trends have also positively influenced our journal. The quality of submitted manuscripts has been steadily increasing, as all associate editors can confirm, and our impact factor as documented by the institute for scientific information has gone up steadily over the past few years.
