Indonesia has assessed the international agreement on the negative effects of tobacco consumption or called Framework Covention on Tobacco control (FCTC). As a result, the negative effects of tobacco consumption should be displayed on each cigarette packing in Indonesia. Current regulation and policy on cigarette which is stipulated by the Indonesia's government have also adopted certain criterias of FCTC. The main purpose of this study is to predict the impact of the implementation of FCTC on cigarette industry in Indonesia. The research method used in this study is a mixed method approach. Interviews with relevant stakeholders were used as the method of primary data collection, whilst questionnaire were given to selected smokers to gather their opinion about the side effects of tobacco consumption. Secondary data used in this study was retrieved from established literature and related documents. Research result revealed the prediction of FCTC implementation on cigarette industri in Indonesia: (I) The government have assessed FCTC by enacting Government Regulations Number 109 of 2012; (2) The adoption of FCTC in Indonesia has resulted various adjustment on cigarette advertisement; (3) eversince FCTC was adopted in Indonesia, the cigarette sales didn't increase every year; (4) some donors have funded various activities that aim to reduce ciggarret consumption in Indonesia; and (5) selected smokers are aware the adoption of FCTC in ciggarete's industri in Indonesia. This includes images on the effects of smoking on health in relevant advertising as well as ciggarette's packinging. Price of ciggarte was also increased due to an increase of tax borne by cigarette's producer. Interestingly, this study found that the smoking intensity of smokers did not change significantly, even though there are changes in the cigarette advertisement and price. This study concludes that cigarette's producer have anticipated is relatively anticipate in regared with the implementation of FCTC which could restrain ciggarete industry in Indonesia. Producers were also progressive in undertaking their advertisement, product, and in implementing corporate social responsibility. They are also expected to pay more attention on the side effects of smoking in their advertisement.
